A multiple accident around Prism Steel Mill, Osogbo-Ikotim road has claimed three lives.

The accident, according to a statement by the Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, occured on Tuesday evening.

According to the First Information Report, FIR, made available by Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson of the Osun FRSC in Wednesday, one other person, an adult male sustained varying degrees of injuries during the head on collision.

The accident the report also revealed was caused by road traffic and speeding violations.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, “a private car, black coloured Lexus model ES350 with registration number: SMK17JK belonging to one Mr Abdullah and a green coloured commercial DAF truck model 85.340 with registration number: ZUR36XB.

“The injured victim was taken to Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo before the arrival of the team while the dead victims were conveyed to the same hospital by the team.

“The two vehicles involved were towed by personnel of the Nigeria Police, Ikirun Division.”

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander, Henry Benamaisia cautioned motorists to desist from excessive speed and route violation.
