Lobi Stars boss commends players despite defeat to Sunshine Stars
Lobi Stars head coach Eugene Agagbe has refused to blame his players following their disappointing 2-0 loss to Sunshine Stars in Akure on Wednesday.

Vincent Temitope and Chidozie Iwundu scored in the first half of the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 22 encounter.

It was the Owena Waves’ first win under new manager Kennedy Boboye.

Lobi Stars maintained top position on the NPFL table despite the defeat.

Agagbe praised his players for their spirited fight in the game.

The gaffer further said that he has shifted focus to his team’s next game against Katsina United in Lafia on Sunday.

“Normally, when you come into a game, you have your plans, but situations changed at the end of the day. We were two goals down and got the red card early, which frustrated us. We lost focus at that time and conceded two quick goals. However, later in the second half, the team remained focused with ten men and showed a very good fighting spirit till the end,” Agagbe told a post-match press conference.

“We will continue to work harder. This match is behind us now, and I am looking ahead to the game against Katsina United in Lafia, planning on how to secure three points.”
